FREE DIGITAL RETINAL PHOTOGRAPHY

We choose to never charge you for this service as we value your health.

Digital Retinal Photography (DRP) is a digital camera that has the ability to take a picture of the back of your eye. With many eye conditions developing without warning or symptoms, the DRP is an opportunity to pick up any underlying issues before they cause any irreversible damage. The DRP can detect things like macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal detachments, artery occlusion, optic strokes, diabetes, high blood pressure and more.

By giving you access to this technology at no charge, we are able to consistently take a new image at each consultation, compare them to the previous images and determine any unusual changes.

IOP – Intraocular Pressure checks

During a standard consultation, our optometrist will always check your Intraocular Pressure. This test is used to detect the possibility of glaucoma with an easy, effortless and painless device. This is a proven accurate measuring principle.

VISUAL FIELDS TESTING

If necessary, we offer Visual Fields Testing BULK BILLED under medicare. This is a machine that tests your central and peripheral vision. The test can detect issues such as glaucoma, damage to the optic nerve, peripheral retinal disease, eyelid conditions or optic nerve disease.

The visual field test uses a light spot that is frequently presented in various zones of your peripheral vision.

AMSLER GRID

This test is used for patients with macular diseases. It is an effective way for an individual to monitor their own changes in vision at home. The patients are recommended to used the grid daily to monitor any changes. This allows the patient to be aware of any significant changes and arrange an appointment with our optometrist for further examination if necessary. We recommend placing your Amsler grid on the fridge or bathroom mirror. This way, you will walk past it every day and prompt yourself to check your vision daily.
